About the DELE exams

The exams are offered at three levels: "Inicial", "Intermedio" and "Superior". These levels are roughly equivalent to the University of Cambridge's English language exams: PET, First Certificate and Proficiency (i.e. intermediate, advanced and very advanced).

All three exams include reading comprehension, writing, listening comprehension, grammar and vocabulary and oral expression. All five parts of the exam are taken on the same day.

The "Inicial" exam lasts a total of 2 hours 50 minutes; the "Intermedio" 3 hours 45 minutes and the "Superior" 4 hours.

 

 

DELE Spanish exam courses in Barcelona

Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE)

4-week preparation course

IH Barcelona offers 4 week-course DELE exam preparation courses.

The DELE Spanish language exam (further information, see right) is organised by the Instituto Cervantes, the Spanish equivalent of the British Council or the Goethe Institute and is an internationally recognised certificate of Spanish language competence.

About the course

The courses focus on preparing you to take the DELE exams. Part of your class time is spent on looking at past papers and you have the opportunity to develop and practise specific exam techniques.

During the first week of the course, we suggest which level of the exam we think you should register for in order to ensure a successful outcome.

• November 21, 22, 2008

Note also that you are required to register for the examination at least 6 weeks in advance.

Price

• 4-week course: €840

The price of your Spanish course includes registration, level test, classes, all course materials, our programme of social and cultural activities, certificates, student card and access to all the school's facilities.

The prices quoted do not include the DELE exam fees, entrance fees and transport on excursions.

Intensive Spanish + DELE preparation course

If you do not have the level of Spanish required to take the DELE exam, we also offer the possibility of an intensive Spanish course of 2 or more weeks combined with an exam preparation course.

The intensive course provides you with the opportunity to develop your overall level of competency in Spanish, while the DELE preparation course will provide you with the skills required to ensure success in the exam.

For beginners, we recommend a minimum 8-week intensive course, followed by the 4-week DELE course. This combination should ensure that if you start out as a beginner, you will pass the DELE "Inicial" exam successfully.
