More about your intensive course

"What's the typical group like?" we asked Mònica Subirana (below), who has been teaching Spanish at IH Barcelona for the last seven years.

"There isn't really any such thing as a typical group," says Mònica. "They're all very different."

Partly that's because in any given group at IH Barcelona there's virtually always a mixture of nationalities.

"It's so much more interesting than a mono-lingual group," Mònica says.

"It's more productive, more fun -- there's so much more to compare and contrast."

Like? "Everything," says Mònica, "from food to ways of thinking and seeing things. Even the response to Spain and the Spanish way of life is very different."

Mònica is also responsible for the social and cultural program that forms part of your course.

 

 

Intensive Spanish courses in Barcelona

Our intensive Spanish courses consist of 4 hours tuition per day, from Monday to Friday. Classes normally take place from 09.30 to 13.30, with a twenty-minute break for coffee taken halfway through the morning.

The course includes a social programme of visits and activities in the afternoon.

During July and August, some intensive courses may be scheduled to take place in the afternoons-evenings, from 16.00 to 20.00. If you attend afternoon classes, you can attend a special social programme of visits and activities that takes place in the mornings.

• Levels: Intensive Spanish Courses are offered at ten different levels from complete beginners to very advanced
• Average number of students per group: 7-8
• Maximum per group: 10
• Minimum age: 16

The maximum number of students per group is just 10 - to ensure that you get even more personalised attention!

If you already have some previous knowledge of Spanish, you can start your intensive course on any Monday throughout the year (except holidays).

If you are a complete beginner, your Intensive Spanish courses has to begin on one of the following dates:

The following Mondays are public holidays and classes in these weeks will begin on the Tuesday: April 5, May 24, November 1, December 6.

• Price per week up to 4 weeks: €205

• Price per week, 5 to 12 weeks: €190
• Price per week, 13 to 23 weeks: €175
• Price per week 24 weeks or more: €170

The price of your Spanish course includes registration, level test, classes, all course materials, our programme of social and cultural activities, certificates, student card and access to all the school's facilities.

The prices quoted do not include entrance fees and transport on excursions.
