Business Spanish courses in Spain
The Spanish economy is currently one of the most buoyant in Europe and, as well as Spain, the ability to speak Spanish also opens up vast markets in Latin America.
Our business Spanish courses are designed with the business person in mind and deal with the kind of Spanish language which is relevant and useful to those engaged in day-to-day business life.
Besides work on basic Spanish language skills (vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening and speaking) topics on our business Spanish courses include general business correspondence, negotiating, socio-political geography and the position of Spain in the Hispano-American and international markets.
A certain amount of class time is also spent on specific Spanish business exam preparation (see below).
Business Spanish exams
At the end of the course, students can take an exam organised by the Madrid Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the University of Alcalá.
The exams are not obligatory but a certain amount of classroom time is spent on activities designed to help students prepare for these exams. These exams are available at two levels, Certificado Básico, and Certificado Superior.
The lower of the two levels (Básico) recognises that students have a basic competence in Business Spanish which should allow them to perform routine tasks in a business context. The second level (Superior) recognises a more advanced level of competence and familiarity with the technical language used in the business world.
Note that there is a minimum level of Spanish is required to take our business Spanish courses.
