Accommodation in San Sebastian: Spanish host families

Bed and breakfast or half board accommodation can be provided with a Spanish host family (pictured, right).

It is difficult to describe a typical host family as there is such a variety. Some a young couples, some have children still living at home and others have grown up children (some living at home, some not).

Most of our host families live in flats, as there are practically no individual houses in San Sebastian. Apartment buildings (both modern and old) are rarely more than 6 floors high.

A typical flat has 3 or 4 bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, dining room and living room. Some flats have terraces, and most have balconies.

All families are within a distance of 5 to 30 minutes from the school, either on foot or by public transport. Some families live in residential areas 15 to 30 minutes by bus from the city centre.

Note that after/with confirmation, we will send a short description of the family, including their address and phone number. It is very important that the student gets in touch with the family to inform them of arrival time. On arrival in San Sebastian, students should make their own way to their host family (unless a transfer has been requested).

Host family, single room

• Per week: B&B, €168 (-€10*) | Half Board, €212 (-€15*)
• Per extra night: B&B, €30 | Half Board, €37
• Placement fee: €50

Host family, double room

• Per week: B&B, €122 (-€6*) | Half Board, €156 (-€10*)
• Per extra night: B&B, €24 | Half Board, €28
• Placement fee: €50

*Long term discount: only applies when the accomodation is initially booked for a period of 12 or more weeks.

 

Accommodation is from Sunday 14.00 pm on the day before the course begins until 12.00 am on the Saturday after it ends.

Please let us know in advance if extra nights are needed. If you exceed the length of your stay, you will be charged the extra days, plus a €100 penalty.
